A 3-year-old girl from the Philippines recites Psalm 23 in the Bible. And it’s the cutest version you’ll hear today!
When the disciples forbade the little children to come before the presence of Jesus in Matthew 19:13-14, Jesus was displeased by their response. And instead, He told them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Jesus loves the little children. He even lay hold of them as an example of what it means to live in the Kingdom of God. There is just something about a child’s innocence and character that will draw you towards them. And this is true for the 3-year-old girl from the Philippines. The little girl in a recent viral video on YouTube is Thea Ivanka Sumalpong. In the video, she adorably recited Psalm 23.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Try, Try Again
Thea’s first try of delivering David’s poetic praise to God is too cute. Although she forgot some of the lines at first, she spoke with strong emotions. She recited the words with enthusiastic hand gestures as well. Moreover, her facial expression spoke along with the verses too! And finally, on the little girl’s second try, she recited the entire Psalm 23 successfully.
Now it has more than 100,000 views in less than a week.
