March 2019 – A devastating fire destroyed local church, United Methodist Church, in Plover, Wisconsin. Miraculously, a 150-year-old Bible survived the fire – for the second time!
The indestructible Bible!
This Bible survived it’s first fire in 1950 and somehow, by the grace of God, it survived it’s second church fire at The United Methodist Church in Plover, WI. “I think this is really something special, truly a work of God” Pastor of United Methodist Church stated.
Pastor Tim O’Brien of United Methodist Church, spoke of the testimony of the Bible, but also opened up about the devastation of the loss. “Yes, this is a building, yes things can be replaced. But these places have lots and lots of memories,” he added.
Retrieving the Bible unscathed
After the fire, the Church building was beyond repair – Deputy fire chief Ken Voss declared it to be a “total loss”. However, the firefighters ended up finding this miraculous Bible amongst the rubble. The only thing that remained intact.
The Bible is said to be 150-year-old.
“The century-old ‘miracle’ Bible is a testament to our faith that still stands strong” said Pastor O’Brien.
More than 100 members of the United Methodist Church and neighboring community members gathered at the church to pray and bid a final goodbye to the building, which stood as an icon of the city since 1964.
The Holy Bible is precious and essential to every single Christian. Every word of this book is alive and we get to use it for edification, encouragement, and inspiration for ourselves and others! How precious is it that this Bible survived not one, but two fires in its lifetime!
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)
