Galatians Chapter 6 in the Message version teaches us that if someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, then you are badly deceived.
How do we live in a world where so much sin prevails, and how do we each maintain this accountability for it?
As followers of Christ, we are called to forgive, to love one another, forgiving those who have sinned against us.
We are called to love the sinner and hate the sin. But many of us fall short of showing this grace and mercy. I, for one, have had to repent of this very thing. Forgiveness did not come easy for me when my husband chose to leave us. I had to make up my mind that prayer was the best remedy for the contentiousness of my own heart.
In forgiving him for his wrongdoings, I was able to move forward, and in starting this necessary healing.
Blinded By Our Own Sin
Many are being deceived by the darker side of life, becoming more and more desensitized to it. When we’re blinded by our own sin, we don’t always recognize the sin around us. Our lines are being crossed, and in many cases, even diminished.
What does the Bible say about the end times, and how should we all guard our hearts to better protect us?
“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20:28-30).
We Must Prepare
We must be mindful of what is to come, and in many cases is already happening, as the stage is being set for His second coming. We must stand guard over our sheep, and protect our flocks, and do so expeditiously.
There must be accountability in the Body of Christ, and we must be diligent in watching for signs and wonders, warning us of these spiritual wrongdoings, all around us.
These are the days, Church. This is the time. We must wake up; because, the time to repent is now! We must prepare for what lies ahead, and to do this, while we all still can.
Luke 9:23-24, “And he said to them all, ‘If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it’.”
