A lifestyle of accountability elicits great joy. Open your heart to letting others know you. Allow people to speak into your life. Give yourself the opportunity for deep love in friendship.
Accountability in Friendship
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” (James 5:16)
Learn to submit to your friends, pastors, and loved ones and find the security of healthy, flourishing relationships. Accountability looks like the intentional practice of sharing your dreams, goals, and leadership of God in your life. Accountability is not about perfection. No, it’s about covering and calling one another higher. Who are the mothers and fathers that you seek out counsel from? Does your heart allow them to correct you? From humility you allow yourself to be fully seen and known.

Godly Authority
The bible teaches us to walk in Godly accountability in our communities (Hebrews 13:17; Proverbs 27). This accountability models itself after our relationship with God. He is a kind Father. Furthermore, He corrects us because He wants the fullness of His life given for us. Do you struggle with accountability? Ask the Lord to reveal today any fears you posses around vulnerability.
Call or meet with a friend and share your desire to be more accountable to them. Consider how to contribute in keeping them aligned with the purpose in their life. Make your friendships a place of safety and encouragement. Additionally, believe anything is possible for one another. And, don’t hold back in reminding them who they are and who they belong to.
