Afraid Of Letting Others In?

We need fellowship, and support, and others to lead us back to God. Sometimes letting down our guard is all it takes.

Afraid Of Letting Others In?
Afraid Of Letting Others In?

There are so many times in life that we are captive within ourselves and fighting all types of heartaches and situations ALONE. All because we are afraid of letting others in due to past hurts by others and shame. Not one of us is worthy of Christ’s sacrifice. The Bible tells us that none of us are good…not one. But there is hope for every sinner. That hope is Jesus Christ who came and died for the sins of His people so that we can be made righteous in Him. We must strive to root ourselves in the Word and study the truth of the Gospel. Reality is without Christ we will not have fullness. Often we are just trying to fulfill the fantasy of “having it all together,” and “no-one has hurt me,” that this world paints. It’s just a fantasy. No one will ever have it all together, and we have all been hurt. Having the real and true theology, can and will be satisfying truth. The Gospel alone will be sufficient and develop bonds of peace.

We must dive into the Word to be satisfied – learning to be filled in Christ. If we don’t we will find ourselves comparing our lives to one another. Beloved, comparison is the weapon the enemy uses against us to destroy ourselves and potential relationships with others. Just read Ephesians 4:2-3. Unity is essential for us in the body of Christ; the Church. Without unity there is no room for accountability, teaching each other, encouragement, nor prayer for one another.

Father, help me open up to women who love you about the struggles I face daily. Forgive me for thinking I can do this alone and not going to You first, for I know You are who sustains me. Help me identify relationships which will keep me accountable, who encourage me, uplift me, and pray for me Lord.

Ask Yourself

Are you struggling to open up to others because you have been hurt before? Do you find yourself fighting alone? Pray to God to give you strength and peace to open up and ask for prayers. And when people disappoint you, love them anyways. Because God loves you! Reflect on Matthew 18:20.

In The Word

Ephesians 4:1-7 says, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.”
