If you’re like me, then you grew up watching Spy Kids and if you’re even more like me, you grew up pretending to be one of the Spy Kids as you fought imaginary, giant thumbs in your front yard. Now, I know that is not just me. A lot of things are ‘just me’ but that is not one of them.
What if I told that the lead actress in Spy Kids is a devote Christian and sat down with my close friend, Trevor Tyson of Trevor Talks, to discuss Hollywood, marriage, and motherhood, and how her faith has grounded her through it all? Crazy, right? Well, that is exactly what happened. I know, I’m fangirling too!
Alexa PenaVega, who is married to Big Time Rush’s Carlos PenaVega—fangirling—opened up about how her deep faith has kept her grounded as she grew up in Hollywood, through her marriage to Carlos, and in raising their three kids. She shared her reflections in the latest episode of Trevor Talks, on the eve of releasing the book she cowrote with her husband, What if Love is the Point? The book itself is available now through Thomas Nelson.

“We know God molds us all the time. When we surrender to Him, He will operate fully in your life,” Alexa PenaVega shared as she reflected on her journey. The journey that included a rise to childhood stardom, overcoming an eating disorder and developing a vibrant relationship with Jesus.
In the book Alexa PenaVega co-wrote with Carlos, the pair share how surrendering to God fully has sustained their family and how that surrender has provided them with an anchor point through the whirlwind of the entertainment industry.
Alexa PenaVega takes listeners deeper into all of that through this episode of Trevor Talks. The episode is a down-to-earth conversation about what can happen when we truly surrender to our purpose.
