An Open Letter To Depressed People

Depression is real and can destroy someone's life if not treated

Dear Depressed One

Listen to the One who calls you out of depression and offers you life in abundance.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

Bigger Than Depression

There’s someone bigger than all the hopelessness you feel inside. Depression sucks the life out of you. I may not know all the pain you have endured already, but I swear I know that you feel nights are endless, I know the face you show to the world is a mask, you smile – yet in reality, you want to break down and cry.

I know the feeling when you cry yourself to sleep at night and wake up crushed by how much life you still have to live. I know you feel that nothing seems to work out in your favor. And you probably don’t know if you can make it through another day, but there’s so much more to life than ending it.

The pain is real and it’s swallowing you. Still, you don’t walk around venting about it. Instead you hold it all in.  I need you to know that it’s in those moments when you want to give up… don’t.

There’s someone bigger than all the hopelessness you feel inside, He is someone who cares for you and loves you more than anyone. You will never know what kind of life awaits you, until you meet Him, but when you are in His presence, it’s all worth it.

Call Upon Him

He is JESUS, the lover and savior of your soul. Just call upon His Name and He will save you. He knows what you’re going through and He wants to tell you this:

“I Have LOVED YOU WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE; Therefore I have drawn you with loving kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

“Come to me, if you are weary and heavy-laden, and I WILL give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from ME, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul.” (Matthew 11:28-29)
