Evangelist Angus Buchan reminds everyone that matters of eternity are more important than your ancestry.
In an episode of the TV show Family Time, Angus shares a message about family and eternity. He began his message by declaring how proud he is of his Scottish roots. The well-known Christian author was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and moved to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa to start his own family with his wife, Jill.
Though he is proud of his ancestry and his family, he emphasized that it is not as important as his identity as a child of God.
“When you become a child of God, it is not important anymore about where you came from,” Angus highlighted.
The father of five then referenced Titus 3:9 which reads, “But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.”
Though our family is important, our relationship with God should be our priority.
“We need to now concentrate on the things of eternity,” he said.
We may prioritize living our own lives, but we should not waste time and forget the greatest commission that God gave us.
“More important is telling people about Christ. Avoid wasting time,” he added.
As a child of God, your top priority should be the Kingdom matters.
“When you come to Christ, it doesn’t matter about your roots of genealogies, what matters is that you belong to the Lord.”
