Anointing of the Holy Spirit
In an episode of Ask Me Anything for Biblical scholar, Dr. Michael Brown of FIRE School of Ministry answers a question about anointing. Is it possible to get the anointing of the Holy Spirit without being baptized in water? How can we get God’s anointing?
“As believers in Jesus, the anointing and grace of the Holy Spirit are ours,” Dr. Brown said. “The Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us the moment we’re saved.”
Child of God
The moment we surrendered our lives to Jesus and accepted Him, the anointing of the Holy Spirit was also upon us. As followers of Jesus Christ, we have God’s anointing and we should use it to fulfill the works of His Kingdom.
“Simply by being a Child of God, be assured that the Holy Spirit is at work in your life and that He wants to work through you,” he added.
Water Baptism
But we all still should be baptized in water as it is a requirement for all of us according to the scripture.
“Water baptism is a requirement. God requires His children to be immersed in water… That is required for obedience but the work of the Holy Spirit is something that God does in us as He saves us,” he said.
So as Christians, we should be using the anointing of the Holy Spirit to touch this world.
“Be hungry for everything that God has. Not just have an experience thus you can feel special, but so Jesus can be glorified and a dying and hurt world can be touched.”
