In this video, Lou Engle is in Israel praying for the Lord to release the Nazarites, the spirit of Elijah and for those who are called by God to rise up and be possessed by Him alone.
You might not have heard of the Nazarites. The Nazarites are mentioned primarily in Numbers 6, where it’s communicated who they are and what it means to be one. Sampson and John the Baptist were two examples of Nazarites in the Bible. Elijah was never specifically identified as a “Nazirite,” however, he too appears to have lived a consecrated lifestyle.
Here’s a brief overview of what the Nazarite looks like:
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When either a man or woman consecrates an offering to take the vow of a Nazarite, to separate himself to the LORD, he shall separate himself from wine and similar drink; he shall drink neither vinegar made from wine nor vinegar made from [similar] drink; neither shall he drink any grape juice, nor eat fresh grapes or raisins. All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is produced by the grapevine, from seed to skin. All the days of the vow of his separation no razor shall come upon his head; until the days are fulfilled for which he separated himself to the LORD, he shall be holy. Then he shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. All the days that he separates himself to the LORD he shall not go near a dead body. He shall not make himself unclean even for his father or his mother, for his brother or his sister, when they die, because his separation to God is on his head. All the days of his separation he shall be holy to the LORD.’” (Numbers 6:1-8 NKJV)
Keep in mind, on this side of the cross, consecration might look a little different to each of us. It’s possible to be set apart to the Lord without growing your hair out or some outward expression. This is a consecration of the heart to wholeheartedly seek righteousness and the beauty of holiness. If you resonate with Lou’s prayer, receive it for yourself right now. Let the Holy Spirit have His way and completely possess you for His purposes. Be changed for the better, forever. God is raising up messengers to demonstrate His truth, love, and life in the earth. May the Lord overwhelm you in the goodness of His love and leadership today!
In Jesus’ name. Amen!
