Proverbs 13:12 – “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” When Josh and Rachel separately started seeing me they both had hearts that were sick from years of hope differed, of relationships that looked like the promise, looked like what they thought was God, only to be left heartbroken and disappointed.
Beginning Of Promise
When they Started seeing me they both thought the story might have been over for them, maybe they would be single for the rest of their lives, but the truth is, their story was actually just beginning. You see both Josh and Rachel without knowing each other started seeing me the same month. I decided I wanted to set Josh up with someone, and Immediately Rachel comes to mind as someone who I thought would be a good fit for Josh and that josh would be a good for her.
I see clients all over the world, so I looked through my info to make sure they were even remotely close to each other, it just so happened that not only were they both in the U.S. but also both in the same state only about 30mins from each other. So I set them up and well…. 8 months later not only did I walk them through their premarital counseling but also got to officiate their wedding.
God’s Timing Is Perfect
Josh and Rachel’s story reminds us…Gods timing is perfect. Sometimes when we think we are end the end of the story we are in fact right in the middle of it. God gives beauty for ashes and can redeem all things!
The processes that happens in a delayed promise is just as important as the promise itself. It’s the process that prepares you for the promise. And celebrate the heck out of that tree of life when it pops up in your life because all of Gods promises are yes and amen!
