Jay Weaver Went To Be With Jesus

On the first day of 2022, Big Daddy Weave posted a message on social media to pray for Jay, his wife, Emily, and their children. The post noted that Jay was battling COVID-19, and he needed prayers.

“Jay has been in the hospital for five days fighting a tough battle against COVID,” the message read. “Would you pray with us for complete healing for Jay and for peace for his family? We pray in the name of Jesus that it be so.”

Also, Jay’s wife, Emily Weaver, revealed in a statement that her husband was fighting hard and hoped he would get healed.

“I just want my best friend/everything to get better,” the wife said. However, one day later, Jay passed away and went to be with the Lord.

COVID-19 Complications

For the past few years, Jay has suffered from many health problems. Before COVID-19 hit him, he already had underlying health conditions. According to CBN News, the singer’s recent battle happened last August as he was hospitalized after complications with dialysis. He got healed back then, and the band and his loved ones rejoiced. But this time, unfortunately, he wasn’t able to make it.

Then on Jan. 2, Jay’s brother, Mike, shared an emotional video thanking fans for their prayers. He also announced his brother’s passing “to be with Jesus.”

“You have walked with him through a huge fight. My brother, Jay, went to be with Jesus just a couple hours ago,” he shared. “Even though COVID may have taken his last breath, Jesus was right there to catch him.”

Mike shared his grief for their loss, especially for their family. But he also expressed joy that his brother is now with the Lord.
