The senior pastor of Bethel Church, Bill Johnson, explains how faith and miracles, particularly healing, go hand in hand.
Bill Johnson brought us back to the Gospel and discusses how Jesus’ healing reveals the nature of God and the nature of faith. Jesus came to the earth for a purpose and that is to reveal the nature of the Father.
“Everything that’s happened up into that point did not adequately reveal the Father. Everything in the old testament was necessary, it’s powerful, it’s beautiful, it’s amazing. But it fell short and Jesus came to carry it on. He came to run the last leg of the race so to speak to bring it into a place of real definition, of real triumph and real victory. Jesus revealed the Father,” Bill explained.
As the Gospels show, Jesus did not heal everyone, but everyone who came to Him. We first need to come to Jesus to receive healing.
“Jesus healed everyone who came to Him,” he added.
Every miracle that was written on the Gospel reveals who God is and what faith is.
“Every miracle uniquely revealed the nature of God, the heart of God, and the nature of faith.”
Bill then summarized what faith truly is and how faith is not a product of our works.
“Faith is never self-made, it’s not the result of the determination, it’s not the result of striving, it’s not the result of human effort, it’s the result of surrender. God has already created the momentum of faith, surrender is to step into the momentum he has created.”
