GOD TV Launches on the Largest Satellite Platform in Africa

GOD TV will launch on channel 344 of the largest satellite platform in Africa on Monday, April 3rd 2017.

In a major announcement with DStv in South Africa, GOD TV’s Regional Director for Africa, Marcél Oliver has confirmed GOD TV will launch on channel 344 of Africa’s largest satellite platform on Monday, April 3rd 2017.

“I am delighted to share the most exciting announcement we’ve made in the history of GOD TV Africa,” Marcél said. “Thanks to the support of our faithful partners, we are able to give DStv viewers across Southern Africa the opportunity to watch our unique selection of life-changing programming.”

Over the past 15 years, GOD TV has made a significant impact across Africa as viewers have watched via generic satellite decoders or by video on demand where Internet access has allowed. There has even been a report of viewers in a rural community using a car battery to power their TV set! It seems some viewers will go to any length to watch what has become one of Africa’s most sought-after channels…

But now, it will be easier to access GOD TV in South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, and Mozambique. All DStv viewers will have to do is click onto channel 344 to experience GOD TV.

“We are launching on DStv with the slogan ‘Encounter God differently’ and we hope to provide millions of new viewers with exactly that,” says Marcél. “We want to give the people of Africa an opportunity to truly get to know and interact with the Father heart of God.”

Since GOD TV Africa started in South Africa in 2002 it has always been part of our vision to be on DStv, which reaches some 10 million viewers across Southern Africa. We have stood in faith for this and God has faithfully come through for us!

We want to thank everyone who has helped to make this happen Please tune in during April to share in all the excitement of GOD TV being on DStv and continue to pray for us in this dynamic new season of growth.

GOD TV – Reaching Africa nation by nation, home by home, person by person

GOD TV has the vision to reach each of our regions through our international schedule coupled with relevant local content. The GOD TV Team in Cape Town are passionate about serving the people of Africa, the huge potential of the African continent and about bringing a message of hope to people of all walks of life throughout Africa.

While our global schedule includes many leading Christian speakers, we also offer emerging voices in our different regions. We aim to bring the world to Africa with our international programming while also giving leaders from Africa a higher profile. We want to speak to our viewers in Africa in ways they can identify with, through relevant local content.

Marcél explains three factors that make GOD TV popular with viewers in Africa.

“He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem”. (Isaiah 2:3)

“GOD TV broadcasts from the heart of Israel to bless Africa,” he says. “Our LIVE broadcasts come directly from Jerusalem and our scheduled programming is transmitted from the place where David slew Goliath. This is a powerful picture of overcoming obstacles by faith.”

We love Israel because it is the birthplace of Christianity and we are instructed to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem with the promise that those who bless Israel will be blessed. GOD TV Africa also has an Israel tour planned for later this year.

GOD TV has several Messianic series in our schedule including the daily ‘Out of Zion’ series, which enables viewers to experience the Land of the Bible from their armchairs.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

“Not only do we want to receive God’s power personally, but collectively, we must be effective witnesses who make disciples of all nations,” says Marcél. “Discipleship brings reformation and we want to see a continent-wide change of thinking as people embrace righteous living, turning from crime, corruption, addiction, abuse, and every kind of destructive behavior.

“GOD TV has always aimed to see spiritual awakening in people’s lives – ‘Reaching Africa nation by nation, home by home, person by person’. The ministry has always focused on reaching the lost and equipping the Church.”

We believe in making living rooms come alive with the Gospel as our viewers share our programming in their homes.

At GOD TV we believe in making living rooms come alive with the Gospel as our viewers share our programming in their homes. That’s why we often broadcast premier Christian events, with internationally renowned speakers and Gospel music artists, giving viewers front row seats to conferences, crusades, and gatherings where God is moving.

GOD TV has carried programming from many revivals including Brownsville; Lakeland; the Bay; and the Africa Healing Outpouring. Ward Simpson played a role in the Brownsville Revival and wants to see a new passion for God come to viewers worldwide. This year marks the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation and GOD TV wants to see the Church throughout Africa reformed, individuals living for God, relationships healed, and families and communities transformed.

While GOD TV broadcasts many leading international ministries, we are also committed to connecting with local audiences in each of our regions with relevant and effective programming.

“GOD TV Africa’s mandate is to produce exclusive, local content to reach all four corners of the African continent,” says Marcél. “That’s why we strive to air anointed Christian leaders with a heart for ministering to the nations of Africa like Angus Buchan and Reinhard Bonnke, while also introducing fresh voices like Mahlatse Mashua, Chantel White, Matt Ludick and Kari Smith.”
