Thousands of residents in the Shasta Country, California and surrounding areas are fleeing their homes as the raging Carr Fire continues to consume with no mercy. The wildfire, which began this past Monday, July 23rd, is currently covering over 44,000 thousand acres of Northern California resulting in two deaths already. With 60 mph winds creating tornado-like blazes and a containment of just 3%, the Governor of California has called for a state of emergency.
Scott McLean of CBS News reports the fire is “non stop” and “taking down everything in its path…It’s just a wall of flames.”
The situation at present is the immediate need for evacuation over containment. “Really we’re in a life-saving mode right now in Redding,” says Battalion chief with Cal Fire, Jonathan Cox. Redding is home to 92,000 people.
As the inferno burns out of control, Bethel Church located in Redding, CA, is calling upon the Church body to pray in this urgent hour.
We at GOD TV stand with our brothers and sisters at Bethel Church in intercession and we ask you to do the same.
- Peace to California and to those near fire.
- Wisdom and safety for firefighters and officials.
- Rain and the ceasing of wind, the smoke to clear for full visibility, no lightning strikes.
- Total and complete containment.
“God, we invite You to come and bring healing and divine intervention to this situation, and to the fires burning throughout California. You are faithful, and You are sovereign over the weather. Bring restoring rains, and protect this land.”
