At the end of 2017 Pastor Chad Veach of Zoe Church in Los Angeles published a book titled Faith Forward Future: Moving Past Your Disappointments, Delays, and Destructive Thinking. In his book, Veach “casts a vision for a future beyond what most dare to imagine and guides us all toward the abundant plans God has for his children.” His book has been well received by many people including the “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor Chris Pratt who recently posted a video on Instagram sharing how thankful he was for Veach’s book.
“So I had this thing happen to me today, it was really cool. Someone came up to me and said, ‘Hey Chris, I have this question for you,’” Pratt explained in his video. “‘You know, with the things going on in your life, how do you keep the faith?’ I was like, ‘BOOM!’ I said, ‘I read books by my pastor Chad Veach at Zoe Church in LA. I find his book Faith Forward Future to be very helpful.’”
This post by Pratt is not the first or the last time that he has used his social media to proclaim his faith. On Easter of this year, Pratt posted a picture of a hand-carved cross made from a Hawthorn tree with the caption “He is risen!”
Within the last year Pratt has undergone a very public divorce from his wife of nine years, Anna Faris. Although the divorce must have been tough for both sides, it seems that Pratt is holding on to his faith by reading God’s word and focusing on the principles Veach shares in his book.
The description for Faith Forward Future explains that Veach’s book is for anyone who is struggling with disappointment and feelings of failures.
It reads: “In Faith Forward Future, Chad Veach presents the proof that God has always known you, has always cared, and is waiting to give you his better dream for your life. When you hear his words and release your broken dreams, you’ll receive all that God has in store and be enabled to reach your best possible tomorrow. Zoe Church in Los Angeles is known for being the home church for many celebrities including Justin Bieber and Kourtney Kardashian. Referred to by many as the “celebrity pastor,” Veach maintains that he wants only to be a pastor to all.
“Most Christians are afraid of getting written off or judged or ostracized, and we’ve got to prove to people that we’re willing to journey with them and that we’re not afraid of getting messy and talking about real life issues,” Veach told the Gospel Herald in an interview.
Veach continued on in the interview by pointing out that Christians believe that “love covers a multitude of sins.”
“Are we going to provide covering? Are we going to provide prayer? Are we going to journey with people for the long road and not just the short term? This is the Father’s heart. This is God’s view of humanity.”
Praying that we would all have the heart and focus of Veach to reach out and cover others in prayer and love.
