When searching for a college to attend, location is one of the most significant factors for decision making. Finding Christian Colleges in California, where once can study on the beach and surf on the weekends can be appealing to many. If spending time on the water was good enough for Jesus and His disciples, then it is good enough for me. In all seriousness though, if California is on your radar of where you want to complete your degree course work, then here are a few locations that can benefit your tan as well as your spiritual needs.
Non-Denominational Christian Colleges in California
Chapman University – One of the highest-rated Christian colleges in California, in fact, it is rated number 17 in the nation. They have a 14:1 Student to teacher ratio and their primary major is Business. It is a mid-sized school with about 7,000 students. The cost to attend is about 40K per year.
Biola University – Ranks at number 4 in California, but a bit lower, at number 38 nationally. They also have a 14:1 student to teacher ratio. Their primary major is Business, but Biblical Studies is not far behind. They are a small-sized school with around 4,000 students. The cost to attend is about 45K per year.
Concordia University – Lower-ranking than Chapman and Biola, but still a recommended college. They have a 17:1 student to teacher ratio and their primary major is Nursing. It is a very small school with 1500 students. The cost to attend is around 25K per year.
Azusa Pacific University – At this point, the smallest school by far on this list. They have around 750 full-time students but have almost double that figure of part-time students. They have a 25:1 student-teacher ratio. Their primary major is Liberal Arts, and the cost to attend is around 17K per year.

Pepperdine University – The highest-ranking school in California and a number 13 ranking in the US. It is of the Church of Christ denomination. They have a 10:1 student to teacher ratio with a near 3500 student population. Business and Psychology are their primary majors. Attendance for Pepperdine costs around 36K per year.
Vanguard University – Ranks number 11 for Christian colleges in California, and 58 in America. They are part of the Assemblies of God denomination. A smaller school with 1500 students and a 14:1 student to teacher ratio. They also dispense Business and Psychology majors. The cost to attend is around 21K per year.
California Baptist University – This Baptist denomination university ranks number 8 in California and number 7 in the nation. They are a mid-sized school with 6500 students and a 17:1 student to teacher ratio. Business and Nursing are the primary majors and cthe ost to attend is in the ballpark of 25K per year.
Point Loma Nazarene University – Ranked at number 3 in California and 21 in the US, Point Loma is a Church of the Nazarene denomination university. The smaller school of 2500 students has a 14:1 student to teacher ratio. Nursing is the primary major as well as other medical field subjects. The cost to attend PLNU is around 32K per year.

A coastal view and a walk on the beach will do nothing for you if you select your college based on these factors.
