Christian Friends of Israel (CFI) is a non-denominational organisation that seeks to lift up the name of Jesus, bless His Jewish brethren and share the message of God’s love both for Israel and the Church.
A true friend is faithful in all circumstances. As Jews in the past have suffered great persecution in the name of Christ, CFI aims to show them real friendship and love in His name.
CFI defines Israel as the Jewish people, both inside the nation and in the Diaspora throughout the world. It also means the modern nation of Israel, which includes both Jews and Arabs, all precious to God.

CFI began with a meeting of a few Christian leaders in Jerusalem in December 1985, from the UK, USA, France and Israel, who were aware of an urgent need to set up a framework to bless Israel. With the help of Lance Lambert and David Bivin, the principles and aims of CFI were worked through and stand unchanged today. These include:
Blessing Israel
CFI seeks to break down barriers and build bridges of genuine friendship with Israel and the Jewish community through:
- Encouraging informed prayer
- Channelling support to projects in Israel
- Joint events with the Jewish community
- Taking tours to Israel
- Providing accurate news from the Middle East
Serving The Church
CFI helps Christians understand the Biblical relationship between Israel and the Church and reconnect with the Hebraic roots of their faith (Romans 11:16-18). They accomplish this through:
- Publications
- Resources including books, videos, teaching tapes, Hebrew learning
- Regional seminars and workshops
- Teaching conferences and ministry tours
- Regional links
- Church links
- Working together with others
