Christian singer Moriah Peters and lead singer for King and Country Joel Smallbone were married in 2013.

July 10, 2019, Moriah uploaded a sweet photo of her and her husband Joel on her Instagram account showing the couple celebrating their anniversary on the beach.

She also shared a funny moment with a woman who couldn’t believe they were celebrating their 6th wedding anniversary.

“When we told the woman at our hotel front desk that we were celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary, her response was familiar,” Moriah said in her post.

“You’re too young to be married for that long!” said the woman at the front desk.

Moriah’s reflection on their six years as a couple

Moriah has been very transparent about the highs and lows of a marriage, not shying away from showing the struggle that accompanies the good times. She shared that sometimes it’s painful when you want to show your best self to your spouse but they see the good, the bad and the ugly.

“I see it as a head start on the refinement process. The word “refinement” gets a bad wrap.” she said. “But if a mirror reflects the insecurities that need healing, a spouse shows the strengths that need celebrating,” she added.

When we told the woman at our hotel front desk that we were celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary, her response was familiar, “You’re too young to be married for that long!” Trust, the last person who would’ve pictured me getting married at 20 is ME. But now, I see it as a head start on the refinement process. The word “refinement” gets a bad wrap…yeah, sometimes it’s painful when the person you want to impress the most sees you the most clearly. But if a mirror reflects the insecurities that need healing, a spouse shows the strengths that need celebrating. Here’s to a man who inspires me to press on and push forward…whether I’m pulling all nighters with #LeadLady and @trala or he’s pulling me into @forkingandcountry writing sessions and photo shoots, our partnership is growing in equal measure to our egos shrinking. We’ve learned to commemorate the milestones and commit to the awkward or infuriating conversations (except for our polarized opinions of @tpain…we steer clear of that). He graciously shows other men how to make way for female gifting in the realms of business, creativity and human rights. So, I hereby present this emoji trophy to @joelsmallbone for becoming the truest version of himself over the course of these 2,190 days: 🏆

Moriah and Joel admitted in ‘I Am Second’ that their marriage, just like many others, is not perfect, but it’s totally worth it and with God at the center, they can overcome anything.

May this couple continues to inspire others!
