An Ohio teenager organized a prayer walk in hopes to bring healing and peace to her town. The whole community, including the town’s mayor, has supported her efforts.

The political confusion, social division, and ongoing pandemic have led 18-years-old Leah to turn to God for miracles. So, she gathered 80 people to pray and walk two and a half miles around Coshocton County.

Leah told CBN News that the Franklin Graham’s Prayer March in Washington, D.C. on September 26 inspired her. She said, “This year has been kind of troublesome. I lost both of my grandparents. There’s been a lot of division this year and not a lot of unity.”

“I wanted to show that we don’t need to live in fear. God has a plan. I wanted to show that we can be stronger together. We don’t have to live behind these barriers.”

After sharing her plan with trusted friends, Leah believed that God was already stirring her to plan the event. “I prayed to God about this,” she said. “I had no idea where my starting point was, but I felt that God was leading me to do it.”

Amazingly, her whole community rallied behind her, including the mayor and the local sheriff. The idea of a prayer walk appealed to everyone so they all proceed with the plan.

Participants brought faith-based signs for the walk. But most of all, each one of them had an expectant and hopeful heart for what God will do.

“People appreciated being together. I encouraged everyone to take something away from the event that will hopefully help them throughout the rest of this year,” Leah affirmed.

“There is something bigger than all the earthly stuff. It was important to show that God is working…it might not always show, but He definitely is.”
