D0 you know that Christian persecution is reaching historic levels in the world today? According to Save The Persecuted Christians (STPC), “More Christians have been persecuted in the last 100 years than in all previous centuries since Christ combined.” This is horrific and as believers we must do all we can to stop this madness.
Time for the Church to wake up!
Our media partner CBN News recently ran the headline: Murder on a Genocidal Scale’: Why the US Church Needs to Wake Up to Scourge of Global Christian Persecution. The article features a video interview with STPC head, Bishop Keith Butler about the action network’s vision to combat atrocities against our fellow believers on a mass scale.
CBN reports that in order to grow awareness about suffering Christians, STPC is offering churches free banners and huge eye-catching panels that highlight the persecution of Christians in specific nations. “Their goal is to get to every church, every Christian organization, every state, every Christian to get together on this issue.”
You can help!
No matter where you live, you can make a difference. Firstly you can pray and intercede for all who suffer. Secondly you can help raise awareness of the plight of persecuted believers across the nations. A way to do this is by petitioning your elected government representatives. Ask them to hold accountable those who are engaged in such atrocities and persuade them to stop through creating powerful disincentives.
“We all need to make a contribution to help those suffering from such horrors as: forced expulsions from their homes and communities, rape, torture, enslavement, the destruction of their churches and holy sites, crucifixion and murder on a genocidal scale,” the STPC website states.
Time for collective action
“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of many organisations that target genocide, such persecution is continuing and, in some places, intensifying. In the hope of actually ending this mistreatment of Christians, it is time for collective action.”
Save The Persecuted Christians also fights for the safety of the unborn. A delegation from STPC recently joined the annual March For Life.
