Christians knelt on the streets across Brazil and cried out to God in prayer for relief from the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a video on YouTube posted by Your Living Manna, many people can be seen kneeling beside the streets. While wearing masks and lifting up their hands towards heaven, these Christians prayed to God. Some even laid hands on the flag of Brazil and Israel.
Prayer Chain On The Streets Of Brazil
People of all ages participated in the prayer rally to fight the coronavirus pandemic. All generations were represented, all praying while observing social distancing.
A user named Victor Rivaldi Panjaitan commented on the powerful video. He wrote, “Brazil set an example of worship in this co-19 pandemic situation, kneeling to God even on the streets.”
Another wrote, “This is what the whole should be doing on its knees asking for forgiveness.”
Some also quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
In April, when the pandemic broke out, President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil immediately called for a national day of prayer and fasting. This was one of the country’s initial response to the crisis.
The president’s motto in life is, “Brazil above everything, God above all.” Even with all the wisdom the leader could rely on amidst the global crisis, he believes that the higher truth is greater and of more importance beyond politics.
These on fire followers of Jesus are responding in faith is truly encouraging. As believers, we all should do the same!
