“And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” (1 Samuel 30:8)
Spiritual leadership, insight, direction and counsel will beat presumptious emotional execution every time. Ask God first. When making critical life changing moves, it’s important to seek God’s Counsel. In fact, with any matter of life, it’s important to seek His counsel. When you decide to abruptly take actions based upon presumption and emotionalism, you put yourself and those that you lead in harm’s way. Ask God before you make a move.
David, had every right to pursue and take back the property that rightfully belonged to him. However, prior to pursuing his enemy, he asked God for strategic insight. More importantly, David submitted to God’s response. Before making a life changing move that could alter the course of his life and the people that followed him, he sought God’s counsel.
When God is on your side, you will undoubtedly win. However, when you leap prematurely, executing without His direction, instruction and counsel you may be heading into destruction. In fact, if David did not inquire if he should pursue his enemy, he could have been consumed by and overtaken by the Amalekites. It is important to seek God before presuming that you will win and recover all.
Let God Do A New Thing
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19)
Don’t force it. Don’t force a dream or vision to come to pass. Let God birth out and mature what He has promised you. You are not God. God is the author and creator of witty ideas and inventions (Proverbs 8:12). He will promote, expand and enlarge you in due season – in His Season. You may be experiencing a wilderness season and you’re unable to see your way out of the dry times – allow God to lift and lead you out of the dry season. He will plant you in your flourishing place.
When you submit to His voice, leadership and instruction He will lead your path and craft creative ways to bring you out of the pit and into your promise. Your dry season isn’t permanent, it’s only a season – it’s temporary. When you submit to His Voice, He’ll promote and prosper you. Allow God to mature you. Trust His process.
The Earth and The Harvest Is The Lord’s.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalms 24:1)
Trust God, the harvest belongs to Him. He is the Lord of the Harvest (Matthew 9:38) and the king’s heart is in His hands (Proverbs 21:1). The favor is already prepared and in place for you to thrive and to prosper. God’s grace is sufficient
(2 Corinthians 12:9). God will plant you and lead you on the proper path – His path. He will establish your course. When you trust God, you are safe in His Hands. Even when you’re not able to see the trajectory of your future,
Trust in The One who holds the future in His Hands. Every place and process belongs to Him. When you trust God, your path is secure and your future is bright. The favor and resources that’s needed for you to thrive is already stored up, God is waiting on you. Will you trust God to guide your feet and to enlarge your path? Your territory was assigned by and belongs to Him. He assigns, appoints and positions those whom He wants in authority. He establishes and sets kings. He shapes the borders of your territory. It’s up to you to diligently steward the resources, influence and gifts that He’s assigned to you.
Gather The Harvest
“He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.” (Proverbs 10:5)
When it’s time to gather the harvest, it takes strength, energy and discipline. Harvesting is work, but God has graced you to prosper. Ask God for the wisdom and diligence to gather and to reap the harvest that He’s promised. If God has prepared the harvest, which He has, then He most certainly has prepared the grace and favor for you to be successful. Wherever the sole of your feet shall tread, God has made a way. When it’s time to gather, God will strengthen and guide your hands to execute His Way.
You Cannot Manipulate God’s Season and Timing
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
God starts and stops seasons. He shapes the course of your destiny. His Word charts your course. When you submit to His Word and allow Him to order your steps, He will lead and guide your heart and your life’s course including your career, business, family and marriage. However, it’s up to you to adhere to and to diligently listen to His voice. God will guide your steps if you allow Him to. He is with you and He will never abandon you. Trust Him in and through every season of life. All of the seasons of your life belong to Him. He cares about you and every season that you encounter.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 )
