Proverbs 16:3 – Ask the Lord to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out
As followers of Christ, we are serving the God of success. Note that the ideas of Christianity and success are not in opposition to each other. However, the way Christians define and pursue success is very different from the way the world does. While those in the world are more likely to center success around material achievements, Christians see more than the mere achievement of material possessions. They are concerned about the Kingdom of God. God in His goodness uplifts them not only spiritually but materially as God did with King Solomon. This goes in line with the scripture that calls on us to seek first the Kingdom of God and all the other things will be added (Matthew 6:33).
As Christians, we serve a God of success. From the beginning, He intended to create the world and He successfully created it. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, succeeded with the challenging divine mission that was assigned by the Father to Him. He left the Heavenly realm to dwell among men persecuted and killed Him for our sins. He willingly gave up His own life in accomplishment of His Father’s will. The success of His mission subjected all authority in Heaven and on Earth at His feet. In addition, the Church has succeeded in lasting over 2000 years despite all the attacks on it. Everything associated with God is defined by success.
Divine Success: We have been destined for success no-matter the challenges that come our way
As God’s children, we are heirs of His blessings, victory, and success. Being a Christian is not a call for failure in life because our Master and Lord, Jesus Christ was not a failure. Everything that His hands came in contact with became successful. This success followed His Apostles. Their persecution was successful for their spiritual growth. As followers of Christ, we are set apart from the world. This is always true whether we are less privileged or not. Always remember that a person can be less privileged, but is still a candidate for Heaven. In simple terms, God is the reason for our success.
Whether we are in need of spiritual or material blessings, our focus should be on God. The Scriptures invite us to ask God to bless our plans and we’ll be successful in carrying them out (Proverbs 16:3).
