A Christian counselor reveals that emotions can affect our overall health and our spirit also needs healing.
Dr. Melanie Joy
In an episode of God At Work with host Rich Marshall, Dr. Melanie Joy, a holistic health consultant, shares with us how she helps people heal their body, spirit, and soul. She is restoring the physical and emotional wholeness of her patients through natural nutrition and Christ-based counseling
The nutritionist and Christian clinical counselor reminded us all that we are more than a physical body. She also revealed that our emotions can actually affect our health.
“What we have to understand is that we’re more than just a physical body,” Melanie explained. “A lot of times we can get stuck in this trap of just focusing on nutrition when we’re a whole person, we have a spirit, a soul, and a body. Sometimes there are emotions that can actually affect our health.”
Emotions can affect our health
She then referenced Hebrews 4:12 to emphasize that the Bible has clearly stated that we are just more than physical bodies. And God can heal every part of us, including our spirit and soul.
“For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12
“We have a spirit, we have a soul, and we have a body and they’re all connected. The Word of God can go in there sharper than any double-edged sword and point to what the real issue is. And we know as believers that our spirit is perfected once we know Jesus.”
If you’re having some symptoms that are affecting your health, seek the Word of God. Let God reveal to you the things that are affecting you and let Him heal you from the inside out.
