One of the greatest gifts we, as believers in Jesus, have been given is perfect peace.
Peace is an abstract concept that represents itself physically in our lives. It’s something we all strive for but all we have to do is receive.
We see in Galations 5:22-23 that there are 9 fruit of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Peace is fruit of a relationship with the Holy Spirit. So why does it still feel so hard to obtain sometimes?
A Picture of Perfect Peace
About 6 years ago the Lord showed me a picture of perfect peace that I will never forget.
It happened when was in a band rehearsal. (I’m a worship leader.) While we were practicing, I went into a spontaneous song about the perfect peace of the Father.
In that moment, the Lord showed me a picture of a tornado and brought me to the eye of the storm. In the center, or eye of the storm, there is perfect peace. It’s literally science.
The Lord showed me that’s how His peace is in our lives. He’s in the middle of the storm with us. He’s at the center. When we step out of His peace is when we step into the chaos. We get caught in the distraction of everything swarming around us.
The secret is keeping Him as your focus. No matter what is going on, focusing on His goodness, love, patience, faithfulness…
Keep Your Eyes On Jesus
It’s when we take our eyes off Jesus and focus on our problems that we lose our peace. Peace is not some distance concept we’re trying grasp. Peace is a person and it’s Jesus!
Instead of looking to every other solution, look to the one person who you can give you everything you’re looking for and everything you need. Jesus.
The Key to Perfect Peace
Isaiah 26:3 says “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”
We see right here the key to perfect peace is trusting in God.
Take some time today to surrender everything at the feet of Jesus. If you are looking for peace today, here’s a simple prayer you can pray right now.
“Jesus, I’m sorry for taking my eyes off you and letting everything around me feel bigger. I surrender ______ to You. I put my trust and hope in You. Thank you for your peace. Holy Spirit, would You feel my with Your peace right now. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
