Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Minister for Strategic Affairs Orit Farkash-HaCohen met today with British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Dominic Raab, who is currently on a state visit to Israel.
Following Israel’s peace agreement with the United Arab Emirates, due to be formally signed in the coming weeks, Gantz expressed his desire to advance relations with other potential partners across the Middle East, and stated that he calls upon the Palestinians to restart security cooperation as well as negotiations with Israel, so as not to be left behind.
With the UN Security Council’s recent opposition to extend the arms embargo against Iran, Gantz stressed that a route must be found to reimpose an arms embargo on Iran, which is undermining regional stability and continuing to pursue its nuclear armament program.

The ministers concluded their conversation by noting the deep and significant defense ties between Israel and the U.K. and affirmed the mutual intention to build upon them further through joint activity.
