Muhammad Dahlan, a senior Fatah official who currently resides in resident in the United Arab Emirates, has purchased 20,000 doses of the Russian-developed Sputnik V Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines that will be sent to vaccinate residents in the Gaza Strip.
The first shipment is already on its way through Egypt and is expected to reach the Rafah crossing Thursday night or Friday.
Dahlan recently sent medical aid to the Gaza Strip through the Al-Tahkapul organization, which he heads, as did the United Arab Emirates, which sent food trucks to the Gaza Strip, in coordination with Hamas and Dahlan’s men.
1,000 Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccines were transferred from the Palestinian Authority, through Israel, to the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
The transfer was made at the request of the PA and with the approval of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
10,000 doses of the vaccine had been transferred from Russia to the PA, which requested that 1,000 be transferred to Gaza for healthcare workers there.
