Exodus 33:11 says this, “The LORD would speak to Moses face to face as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.”  Today, I want to encourage you that God is far more present in the secret place than you are aware of.

A friend of mine recently shared a story with me about a time in her life when she had freshly encountered God. And during the day after she had dropped her daughter off at school and her husband would go to work, she would sit in her literal closet and cry out to God and read her Bible. And there were not so many times that she was extremely aware that God was present, but she was so hungry that she would stay there, and she would continue to spend time with Jesus in the secret place. That was five plus years ago.  And recently someone had given her a prophetic word and they said, “I see you sitting in this closet, and I see Jesus in the room and He’s watching you spend time with Him, and He’s so excited about the time you’re spending with Him. He has a smile on His face.” And a light bulb went off in her heart and in her mind, that whole entire time that she had been in the secret place, Jesus had been there, too. She just wasn’t as aware as she wishes she was.

And so today this is what I want to encourage you with, is that when you go and you spend time with God in the secret place, be like Joshua. Joshua was so consumed with what was happening in the tent of meeting, where he was with Moses, that the atmosphere of that tent whet his appetite so much that he couldn’t leave. He had to stay, because he was so aware of Who was in the tent.  And he stayed in there until the tent got in him.  Joshua stayed in the tent until the tent got in him. And I want to give you permission to do that today, to stay in the tent until the tent gets inside of you. It’s way easier than you think. The scriptures say, “approach the throne of grace boldly in your time of need.”  And we always need God, so God’s always welcoming us.

And so I’m just going to pray and give you permission to be present and be aware of God in the secret place today. Lord Jesus, I thank you for every person watching this video. And I thank you for a grace being released right now, and an ease to encounter you in the secret place.  And we give ourselves permission to be aware of you, Jesus, when we spend time with you.
