Media is a powerful vehicle for providing GOD TV worship experiences. In today’s society, worship is often thought of as the 20-45 minute set of songs sung during a church service. That is worship, but worship is so much more…
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” – (Romans 12:1)
The Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12). Paul’s words to the Romans are still speaking to us today. As believers, we are called to offer ourselves as living sacrifices. True worship is sacrifice. Notice, Paul doesn’t mention singing a song or playing an instrument. He is exhorting believers to give their lives in worship as a living sacrifice.
What does it actually mean to sacrifice? Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines sacrifice as “an act of offering something precious.” What is precious to you? Think about it for a moment…is it your job, spouse, kids, friends, home, or a pet? How precious are your dreams and desires? What about the prophetic words or promises that have been spoken over your life? What is most precious to you? The people and things that make our lives precious are the very things that we are called offer as worship to the Lord.
What is worship?
Worship is so much more than singing songs or playing instruments. It is true, we do worship through music and song, but if we limit our definition of worship to that box, we are missing out. Worship is a lifestyle and should permeate throughout any and all aspect of our lives. When worship is a lifestyle that turns mundane tasks like brushing your teeth or driving in to into opportunities to worship. It also opens up opportunities to glorify God with our decisions, relationships, and finances.
Colossians 3:23 says, “Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.” According to this verse, anything we do in life can become an act of worship when we do it for the Lord. Seeing our lives as worship empowers us as believers to live like Jesus did.

Giving is one of the other spiritual acts of worship that we can participate in as believers. Malachi 3:10 teaches, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse… and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Giving is worship. When we give it says we trust God. We show thankfulness by giving. Giving is a sacrifice and sacrifice is worship!
