Did you know it’s possible to grow in God’s goodness? As we stay in step with the Spirit of God, the fruit of His presence becomes more and more evident in our lives.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
What is God’s Goodness?
Goodness is God’s character. It is what makes him distinct in nature; because He is good is the basis for our entire lives. To grow in God’s goodness, we must become aware of it in our lives. It is meant to be experienced! Psalm 34:8 says “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”
God is so good, He created the heavens and earth to experience with us. As you focus on His goodness today, ask yourself: are there any parts of your mind that are not believing in God’s goodness? As God looked at all that he created in Genesis 1, he proclaimed it was very good. Even man, made in His image, was good.
“And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. ” (Genesis 1:31)
A prayer for you: Holy Spirit, fill this reader afresh with the revelation of your goodness. Bring them to passages in your word which reinforce the reality of your true nature. Thank you that you are good, God. Thank you that we have been invited into an experience of your goodness. Help us grow in your goodness this week, with ourselves, and with our families. Amen!
