When we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we share the authority of Jesus to rebuke the works of the devil. We can cast out satan and his demons through the name of Jesus.
“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.” (Luke 10:19, NLT)
Below is a sample prayer of deliverance if you want to practice it in your life.
First, confess your sins so that God will wash it away and make you clean. “Lord, I come to You in humility. I confess my sin of _____ (name the sin). Wash me clean with the blood of Jesus.”
Second, renounce the spirit behind the sin. “I renounce the spirit behind the sin of ______ (name the sin).”
And lastly, use Jesus’ authority to drive the spirit out. “In Jesus’ name, I command the spirit of ____ (name the sin) to get out now! I burn it with the fire of God!”
