Today’s Verse:

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Today’s Prayer:

Dear God,

Things are not working out as I have expected. And I know part of the reason is that I haven’t connected to You lately. I’ve been doing things on my own. And I have not inquired of Your guidance with my decision-making.

And for that, I am sorry, God.

I am sorry that I wanted to become the big man. I am sorry that I tried to become the king of my life.

When it was supposed to be Your throne, I am supposed to be Your own.

So, today, God, I surrender. I am letting go. I am losing grip on control.

I lay down my plans, desires, and ambitions.

I want to see You move once again in my life. I want to know how You work all things together for Your goodness’ sake and the glory of Your name.

Thank You, Lord, for not giving up on me and not letting go of my hand.

Help me become the man You wanted me to be. So, Holy Spirit, teach me Your ways and guide me in Your path. Let me be a reflection of Jesus’ heart and image.
