Falling away from the Lord is not an instant move. It comes from our “innocent” decisions that gradually lead us to fall out of love with God. But, before we could get there, God gave us warning signs.
For this week’s devotional, we will have a series of reflections on how to avoid falling away from the Lord. And we will be looking at Luke 22 as our reference Bible passage and the apostle Peter as an example.
“And when some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them.” Luke 22:55

The last warning sign to avoid falling away from the Lord is NOT HAVING THE WRONG FELLOWSHIP.
Peter had the wrong fellowship. He chose to stay with the wrong people when he should strengthen himself and gather his fellow disciples.
In the same way, let us not be like Peter. At crucial times, do not detach yourself from your fellow believers.
It is very tempting to isolate yourself when things get complicated. But, never do so because it is your most vulnerable time. When you are alone, you tend to listen to the world’s voices and the lies of the enemy. And you will most likely forget God’s promises.
That is why the fellowship of fellow believers is essential because it helps us connect to the truth. Their presence reminds us of God’s faithfulness, and they help us grounded in the Rock.
So, today, if you have someone in mind who is isolating themselves from the fellowship, pray and reach out to them. Please do not allow the enemy to steal what is for them. Shalom!
