Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
With the little the disciples had, Jesus could miraculously multiply it. All you need to do is do what He asks of you.
Jesus told the disciples to feed the five thousand men.
Acknowledging the little they had, they turned to Jesus to confess their incapacity.
But, Jesus did not look at their inability. He looked at their obedience and humility. And with it comes the miracle of multiplication.
We may come to a point where God would prompt us to do something we know we cannot do. But just like the disciples, turn to God and humbly acknowledge your need for His miracle. Obey what He says and you’ll be amazed at what He can do through you.
The promise after this is “They all ate and were satisfied.” (Matthew 14:20) We will be satisfied by God’s provision. Shalom!
