“‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
We often hear this verse to encourage others. This is popular in birthday greetings or inspiring messages. And true enough, it is indeed uplifting. But, if we look at this verse in the context of when and where Jeremiah actually wrote it, we will have a deeper perspective in this rich passage.
Jeremiah 29:11 was written when the Israelites were in exile. Imagine the people being driven out from their land, robbed of their properties and families, and not knowing what’s ahead of them. And yet, God promised: “I have plans for you: prosperity, security, hope, and future.”
Today, receive this powerful promise of God. Regardless of your unfavorable situation, God says He has a plan for you. In everything that you are going through, He has a plan. He is the God who turns all things work together for your good.
