Today’s Verse:
“You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence, there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11)
Today’s Message:
Many Christians believe God holds His scepter as a rod of punishment to those who disobey Him. They see Him as an angry Father, always watching out for your next wrong move. As a result, they walk in fear and not in love when the truth is God is love, and love casts out fear.
God is not a killjoy. Psalm 16:11 reveals that God stands as our source of full and lasting pleasures long before Christ came. Now that Jesus came for us and reconciled us back to God, we now have access to the deepest, longest joy a human can have. Hear now the invitation of Jesus: “Turn from the fleeting pleasures of sin” (Hebrews 11:25) and come to the “pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).
