Today’s Verse:
“And a voice came from heaven: ‘You are my Son, whom I love; with You, I am well pleased.’ At once the Spirit sent him out into the wilderness, and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.” Mark 1:11-13
Today’s Message:
Jesus, our Lord and Savior, was not exempted from temptations and trials. The Bible even said that ‘the Spirit sent Him.’ God allowed Jesus to be in the wilderness to be tempted by satan.
But, even before sending Him out, God first affirmed His love and delight over Jesus. So, when Jesus is faced with the trials, He knew beforehand of God’s love. He had the confidence that Father God was pleased with Him.

Most importantly, Jesus was not alone amid the temptations. He stayed connected with the Father through prayer and He was strengthened by the Holy Spirit in Him.
When satan tried to confuse Him about His identity and purpose, Jesus was not shaken because He first encountered God’s love.
We are also faced with different struggles and temptations. But, the great news is that we are not alone. Jesus, the Champion of Heaven, is in us. He promised to be always with us.
And just like Jesus, we are to hold on to God’s affirmations of love and promises to be able to face satan’s tricks. We should listen more closely to what He says than what we hear from the world.
