“Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”1 Timothy 6:9-10
God has introduced Himself as our portion and wealth. And by that, it also means that we are to be careful in desiring riches and gain.
I have witnessed how God provides and sustains me once I recognize Him as my inheritance. I gave up my selfish ambitions and surrendered to His will. As a result, I gained peace.
Although I do not have much, I never lacked. Whenever there is a need, God always has a way to meet them. I have lived simply and contented because I find security not in my possessions but in the truth that I know God, and He knows me.
But in my contentment, God has also given me what I want, even the luxurious ones. He never withholds anything good from me.
So, today, I encourage you to find contentment in God. Money and possessions won’t make you wealthy, but knowledge of God will. Shalom!
