“The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.” Leviticus 6:13
In the Old Testament, God instructed the Levites and the priests to keep the fire on the altar burning. In the New Covenant, the command remains the same – to keep the fire burning.
The fire signifies the Presence of God. So, it was vital for the Israelites to maintain the fire in the altar inside the temple.
Today, we are the temple of God. And in our hearts lie the altar of the Presence of God. The fire of His Presence burns within us as we receive His love and spread it to others.
To keep it burning, we must do our part as ministers of His Presence. Let us continue in our walk as followers of Christ and cultivate it by meditating on His Word and praying without ceasing.
Furthermore, let us gather with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage, build up, and edify the church.
