“But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities. But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” Luke 5:15-16
In your everyday, always make time for prayer. Do not neglect it and prioritize it above all else.
Just like Jesus, whenever the pressures of his day would try to swallow Him whole, He would quickly withdraw Himself to make time for prayer. Because prayer gives us perspective. It helps us align our vision once again into our purpose.
When the people would crowd to Jesus for healing, Jesus would take a step back and pray to His Father. It would remind Him what His true purpose is, to get back to His original ministry of preaching and teaching, not healing. Healing was His response to the need of the community, but it was not His primary goal.
May Jesus’ example helps us value our prayer time. That it will help us rise above the daily pressures and stay on track to our purpose.
