Today’s Verse:

“Yet the news about Him speed all the more so that crowds of people came to hear Him and be healed of their sicknesses. But, Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Luke 5:15-16

Today’s Message:

We often think that if we stop doing our activities and replace them with more quiet time with God, we also stop being productive. But, Jesus modeled true productivity. And it is in finding time to retreat from all the noise, recalibrate our hearts into His, and reorient our purposes to His will.

Martin Luther once shared how important communing with God is to succeed in a day’s chores. He said, “I have so much to do today that I’m going to need to spend three hours in prayer to be able to get it all done.”

Connecting with God will help us put things in order. His wisdom will teach us what needs to be done and what not. It will spare us unnecessary efforts and keep our energy on what’s important.

So, today, remember this and”declare upon yourself, “I have so much to do, so I must spend more time in prayer.”
