“I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart, And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, And how I may reply when I am reproved. Then the Lord answered me and said, ‘Record the visionAnd inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.'” Habakkuk 2:1-2
We all have our own unique stories with God.
Our journey is not the same with others. And that is one of the reasons why it is important to keep a record of what God has been speaking and revealing to you.
Because human as we may be, we forget. Sometimes, we forget what God has promised us. Or even what God has done. And making a journal about your relationship with God will help you focus on His faithfulness rather than on your present situation.
God knew about our frailty as humans and our forgetfulness. That is why He instructed the Israelites in Deuteronomy 6 to write His commands in the doorposts in their houses and on their gates. It serves as a constant reminder of who God is and His love.
So, today, start keeping a record of your personal journey with God. And if you’re already doing it, keep it up!
