Today’s Verse:

“‘And you will realize what an evil thing you did in the eyes of the Lord when you asked for a king.. Do not be afraid,’ Samuel replied. ‘You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart.'” 1 Samuel 12:17,20

Today’s Message:

The Israelites made a poor choice. Asking for a king when God is supposed to be their king is a very poor choice. But they made it out of fear and immaturity. And although they made a poor choice, God did not neglect them. He remained their God and their faithful Father.

Samuel clearly instructed them that although they did evil, they should not turn away from God. For in His guidance and grace, they will be led to His wonderful plan.

Many of us would relate to the Israelites. We have also made poor choices in our lives. But God is very gracious and good. He did not abandon us nor leave us be.

If we ask for forgiveness, He is faithful and just to give it to us. Moreover, He redeems us from our poor decisions and makes it so that it will become a beam of hope and a good future. As long as we continue to serve Him with all our hearts and follow His ways. Shalom!
