Today’s Verse:

“Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” Matthew 26:36

Today’s Message:

The night before Jesus was delivered to his death, He went to Gethsemane to pray. He spent hours praying because of what lies ahead for Him.

Jesus knew what was coming. He knew that He would be flogged and then crucified. But, instead of trying to store strength for the day by sleeping, He turned to the trustworthy source of power. And that is coming to God in prayer.

Prayer is the true source of strength. Not by sleeping or resting, which many of us do.

Sometimes, we would rather spend the early morning hours sleeping because we believe it is what we need to face the day. But, Jesus showed that the greatest preparation is coming to God. By connecting to the Holy Spirit, we get to live victoriously.

So, always start your day with communion to God. Shalom!
