“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life.” John 3:16
John 3:16 has been overused by many Christians. But, today, let us reflect on the depth of the message of the verse.
This one verse teaches us everything about God’s love. First, God is love. He loves because He is love Himself. Second, it shows us that He loves the world and every creation. Every tribe and every nation, every color and every race. Moreover, He loves His creation and He has no intention to destroy them.

Third, John 3:16 helps us understand the nature of God’s love. And His love is sacrificial and unconditional. His love can sacrifice everything that He has. And anyone who believes, regardless of what he or she has done, will receive the benefit of His love.
Learning about God’s love, we naturally respond to Him in love. We love Him more and desire to know Him more.
So, today, this Christmas day, reflect on the love of God because the day Jesus was born was His epitome of love. Jesus’ birth was the start of our reconciliation with God.
