Today’s Verse
“Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord.
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart—
3 they do no wrong
but follow his ways.
4 You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.
5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast
in obeying your decrees!
6 Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws.
8 I will obey your decrees;
do not utterly forsake me.” (Psalm 119:1-8)
Today’s Message
As a follower of Jesus, you daily make a choice to walk with Jesus. Choosing to stay the course with Him, than to go anywhere else. Imagine a walking path in your mind. Maybe it’s one at your local park, or the road you take each morning on your way to work. Whatever it looks like, consider all the things on that path. All the twists, turns, shaded areas and parts where weeds grow up out of the middle. Paths turn, become dark, and even fade into other paths. But paths also show us beauty, keeps us aligned to our destination, and most importantly, clearly define where we are headed. Though we cannot see the start to the end of a path, we trust that it is taking us where we need to go. Our walk with Jesus is the same. God’s word promises that He goes before and behind us, hemming us in (Psalm 139). We get to follow His word, no matter the circumstances, trusting it is constantly leading us into all truth. Today’s Psalm (119) tells us that those who follows His ways are blessed. Be blessed today, as you follow Jesus. Remember that that’s what you are — His follower! You have a faithful friend to lead you.
