Today’s Verse:
The woman came and knelt before Him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
But Jesus replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.
“Yes, Lord,” she said, “even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

“O woman,” Jesus answered, “your faith is great! Let it be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (Matthew 15: 25-28)
Today’s Message:
If it were our culture today, we would be offended if someone referred to us as “dogs.” We’d start to judge that someone and even call him names. We could even think, “How could this person try to shoo away someone who comes to him for help?”
But, the woman in the passage did not.
She knew of her great need for a Savior, and she knew the Savior had come.
More importantly, Jesus’ intention was not to condone her but to give her important teaching. He told her about His work, which was to minister to the Israelites. If we think about it, it was such a precious revelation for someone like her – a Gentile, considered inferior to Israel.
But, it was the woman’s response that pleased Jesus.
Instead of bickering about how she was also entitled to receive healing, she humbled herself into a position of receiving Jesus’ miracle.
She trusted Jesus and His heart.
This is the faith that pleases God. A faith that is coupled with trust and perseverance in holding on to his heart and promises.
