Our lives are like seeds and we bear fruit in seasons

Seasons – Hillsong Worship

One of my absolute favourite topics is the seasons. There are such incredible parallels between physical/external seasons and spiritual/internal seasons. But the imagery used in this new song by Hillsong is especially striking and true. When I heard this song I had goosebumps throughout.

The song is all about our lives being like seeds, planted, and then struggling and weathering through seasons. It’s so easy to feel insignificant sometimes; stuck in a winter season where our seed doesn’t seem to grow. But we’ve got to remember that even the giant sequoia, as referenced in the song, started out as a tiny seed! The lyrics speak of the faithfulness of God,

“For Your promise is loyal
From seed to Sequoia.”

But what really hits are the declarations of who God is:

“Cause You’re the God of greatness
Even in a manger”

and

“For all I know of seasons
Is that You take Your time
You could have saved us in a second
Instead You sent a child”

Any time you feel discouraged, listen to this song and let the truth of God speak to you!

Listen below and be blessed!
