How do we deal with troubled teens?
Troubled Teens
In an episode of Today With Ward, guests Michelle and Nathan talked about dealing with today’s teenagers. Our generation has changed so much. Kids and teens nowadays are more aware and knowledgeable about almost everything because of the internet and social media. However, parents are having struggles with parenting their teenage kids.
“Mother’s prayers are so powerful and I know there are people watching all over the world right now, they have teens that are troubled, they don’t know how to deal with them,” Ward said.

Establishing Relationship
One thing that changed the most in this generation is building relationships. Relationships can be hard to establish these days. You can be in the same room yet worlds away. That is true even in our own family. But as parents, we can establish a relationship with our children and we can do so by being intentional and genuine with them.
“One of the big keys of establishing a relationship with your child is just you have to be intentional,” Michelle shared. “You have to take aside and set aside time and spend time with them. Talk to them; they hear you. A lot of times you think they don’t, but they hear every word that comes out of your mouth.”
Power of Words
There is power in our words and what we speak to our children will affect them more than we think it would. Our words can shape or break their future.
“The power of words. In Genesis, God, everything that He created He spoke it into existence… We have that same power… As parents, the power of the blessing over your child is so powerful.”
Instead of telling them what we’re afraid of, let us speak the words that would bring them into their God-created destiny. Call those things you want to pass over your child’s life.
“Make that out of eye contact, speak to their spirit, bless them, bless them to be focused, bless them to be able to make good decisions.”
